Black Burn Lodge is a hidden treasure. Jayne and Michael are incredibly welcoming hosts who provide not just a stay, but a wonderful experience. The views are captivating, especially during breakfast overlooking the garden!

Blimey, what a find! The views from the gazebo by the river were lush, perfect for sippin' a cuppa. Room was nicer than me nan's and so clean. Only downside was brekkie being a little trek away, but still worth it!

The generous use of fresh, local produce at breakfast was delightful and really showcased the area’s culinary offerings.
The communal sitting area had a cluttered look with dead flies around, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant environment.

the garden room had some potential but was overshadowed by dead flies everywhere, talk about a lack of cleanliness. plus, who thought a curtain was an appropriate door? felt like a fishbowl. a complimentary drink would have been a nice touch given all the discomfort, but alas, the bare minimum was all I received. how tragic!

I stayed in the Deluxe King Room for 2 nights and loved it! The bed was super comfy, and the room was spacious with great views of the river Liddel. They had a charming outdoor area where I could chill by the river. A communal lounge with a cozy log burner. Breakfast was awesome too, really well presented and delicious. The hosts were so accommodating, even sorted breakfast later for me after a late night! Can’t wait to go back.

Deluxe room features a comfortable double bed and a spacious bathroom. Stunning views of the river Liddel from the private patio. Access to a shared conservatory lounge area with a telescope offers a cozy spot to unwind and possibly star gaze.
A significant drawback is the large curtain door which allows for an uncomfortable element of surprise from the owner. The sitting room contained dead flies and was cluttered with stored outdoor furniture, detracting from the atmosphere. Breakfast preparation had a hiccup with the lack of Lorne sausage, and the dining area could benefit from better cleanliness standards.

Stunning location and superb facilities! The hosts are warm and welcoming with great knowledge of the local area, which they shared on arrival. The delicious breakfast at The Olive Tree was a real highlight. The view from the riverside gazebo was beautiful, and the cozy lounge with a wood burner added an extra touch of warmth to our stay.
The electric bike charging availability could be improved.
